The Finnish holiday calendar is slightly different from the United States calendar. This can be seen especially around Christmas and New Year, where there may be two three-day holiday sequences. Around Easter, there is a long weekend with Friday and Monday as holidays.
Some public holidays move annually, which affects the number of weekdays that are holidays each year in Finland.
Public holidays are usually days off for employees.
Please note that public holidays may affect, for example, public transportation. In addition, public service offices, banks, and post offices will be closed during public holidays.
